Chapter 3:  The Fate of 2 People

Seyha’s PoV:

After seeing the CV of this person, I recruited her online. She is talented and qualified to be the new architecture in our company. Mr Bok is going to retire in this year so I need at least 2 architectures to learn from him as soon as possible. I called my best friend Jack asking where he is now. It surprised me that he finished his MA and came back to work for his father. We are not just best friends but also business partners. His father has many types of business in the investment and food area. Along the way to the old place where we usually meet, the rain was pouring hard and I saw a woman was crying in front of the bookstore. Seeing this scene reminds me of a high school girl that I met 6 years ago. She is weird because in both scenes she didn’t even cry, how heartless she is. Arriving at the bar, I headed to the table that I asked Mary to book for me. The waiter came to welcome me and take me there. I am confused as I see a beautiful woman sitting there so I look at the waiter and that woman suddenly stands up and greets me with a smile that she is Jack’s friend - Manila Don. I greet her back and say, “I am Seyha - a best friend of Jack.” We both say. “Nice to meet you.” I asked her where Jack was and she said he’s gone to the bathroom. I call the waiter to order and we both order the same wine. We have a little chit-chat about work and study. It seems she doesn’t want to talk and I just keep asking the questions about her area of learning. She might not know that I am her boss.

Manila’s PoV:

When I landed on land that I wished to come many times in these 6 years but I had no chance. Finally, I am here, here to see how my aunt is. I am checking in the place that the company offers and thanks to Jack, who is always here helping me with unpacking and touring me around the city. I was waiting for Jack on his booking seat and suddenly, a tall handsome young man approached me with confusion in his eyes. I can see that he is about 1.80cm with a hairstyle like a musician, and eyes like a sharp knife. I immediately remembered that he was the man who helped me 6 years ago. I smiled at him and greeted him formally and we chit-chatted about work and study. I don’t want to talk much about these topics because here is the place to relax. I am thinking whether he remembered me, I wanted to ask him but it was cut off by Jack present. During our drinking gathering, only Jack talked a lot with different topics and random things. We laughed and enjoyed listening to his funny things and his experiences overseas. I didn’t share my story with them but I kept nodding my head when Jack asked if the questions agree or not.

Jack’s PoV:

She looked so beautiful in her black dress. She looks gorgeous and charming. She makes me feel like I possess her. I cannot take my eyes off her, I try to talk a lot in order not make her feel like Seyha is not an outsider. Also, I don’t want Seyha to see her as my best friend but my love that I cherish the most. I know that Seyha doesn’t like someone easily and especially the woman who is with me. Most of the stories that I share are all related to Manila. I love her light make up with her black high hill. She doesn’t like red or pink as I observe her for a long time. Most of her clothes are blue, white, black, and green and she rarely wears makeup even on graduation day. She doesn’t care about anybody around her, she cares only about her work and study. I think I can make a change one day - from a close friend to a lover.  I feel like it is just a short time but we drink around 10 bottles - Oh god, I drink a lot more than those two.
