Chapter 8: Accidentally Meet 


“Mmm… Can you check these boxes for me, please? They are very important which I cannot see them and except you and Ms. Sarah and Sarah would tell you what to do with these,” asked Ms. Lily.
“Okay. I’ll check them right now and I’ll ask Ms. Sarah for help, thanks!” I replied. 
Through each pack of each level, I can see that there are 807 books the same as the list given but I don’t know what to do next so I closed the boxes and taped them then put all of them in the store room and went to the next office where Ms. Sarah works. I knocked the door and said, “Hi Sarah! May I go in?” “Yes, please! What can I help you, May?” she asked. “I am checking the test for the students in Primary and Secondary level but I don’t know what to do next, for now I keep them in store room and come to you.” “Oh! Okay and thanks for checking them for me!” we can go now and have a look at them together, is that okay?” “Of course!” I answered.
“On the cover of the books needs to write the full name, grade level, Code number and Year, so I would like you help with these but please just help with the primary level because secondary student can complete the information by themselves,” Sarah requested. 
“I’ll do that, thanks, but may I know when do you need these?” I replied. “I need them by tomorrow morning, is that okay?” Sarah asked and looked at me. “Ok.” I replied with fake smile. Vibrating is shaking in my pocket and I took it out it is the alert of the notification of the parent meeting today at 10: 30am to 11: 30am with Lily.” I have to translate for them so I keep the books in safe place and preparing the water and check the AC and table in meeting room to be ready for Lily and Parent. 
“Good morning Ms. Carla! How are you? I am May an assistant to Ms. Lily and the one who contacted you for this meeting last Monday.” “Hi May! I’m good, thanks!” Carla replied with a smile face.
Carla is very beautiful as she is one of the richest people in this country and she came to meeting because of her son – Lucas has trouble with his study. During meeting, Carla doesn’t like the report and teacher complained at all because she said, “My son always does his homework and at home he has tutors helps him in math, writing, reading and Chinese, so why his report came out with the low score? Please explain me, Lily!” she demanded. “I’m so sorry to hear about this but please check the evident of his writing and his reading with his math here! And for his additional language – Chinese is okay not bad but not so good as Chinese is not his 1st or 2nd language but it is third language,” Lily showed and replied with her patient toward parent. 
I translated to her and explained her step by step through each page of the evident but then she exclaimed, “Can I go to the bathroom?” Lily, Mr. Toath – Lucas homeroom teacher and I replied at the same time, “yes, please!” she took almost 10 minutes in the bathroom and while we were waiting for her; Lily told me “she doesn’t accept her child’s level and she gives her child to study a lot at home, why?” Toath continued, “I think that the reasons why Lucas is lazy in the class and doesn’t want to participate in all subjects. He is a quiet child and he used to be good when he was in grade 3 and 4. So now I don’t know what has happened in grade 5, I’ll check his grade 3 and 4 report after the meeting.” I could not say anything because I am just the staff in the office so I just smile and replied, “We can ask her in the meeting about her son studies at home, ok?” they both nodded as a yes and then Carla is entering the door. 
“Sorry to take long but May could you please continue explaining me about these?” Carla asked. I smile with replied, “Yes.” Someone knocked the door so I stopped and looked at the door and I saw Panthy whispered something, so I asked Lily to check. I opened the door and my cheeked is hot it feels like the sunlight is heating on it so hard because in front of me is Peter. I looked and Peter’s face and talked to Panthy, “What happened?” Panthy said, “He said he has meeting with Lily and Carla”. Then Carla stood up behind me and said, “sorry I forgot to tell you he is my nephew and he will join the meeting with us today, is that okay?” I looked at Lily’s face and she nodded as a yes then I invited Peter in and I went to get water for him and said thanks to Panthy. 
Sitting with uncomfortable feeling and I continued explaining Carla about report when I finished Peter took the report and read silently in his mind but Mr. Toath raised the problem up, “I think Lucas is a good boy because he doesn’t have any problem in grade 3 or 4 and I think he might be very tired because he needs to learn a lot at home.” I was about to translate but Carla refused and asked Peter to translate for her then I sat back. Lily showed the eyes contact to me to tell me that I have to stay until the meeting ended.
