Chapter 4: An Unexpected Moment 



At 4: 30 pm, I was at my second class and there is a very heavy rain and we cannot see anything outside of the window. I sit next to Mathew and he is one of my new friends that I know in this semester. He studies with me in the morning too and we get closer because we are in the same group for morning class. 
Math chuckles, when he saw me, while I was closing my ears and eyes because of the lightning outside. 
Hey, May! Are you scared? He asked. 
I answered him with my vibrate sound, Ye..eh eh h 
Math moved his chair close to me and at the same time Stefan also moved his chair close to my back. I looked at them with my hands keep on my ears and I see they are looking at each other with sharp eyes. Actually, I am not a beautiful girl or something; it just I am friendly that’s why most people like me. In my afternoon class, there is a beautiful girl and few pretty girls too. Shen is half Chinese; she is so beautiful and she is friend with Peter and I close with her as well. One day, we sat next each other in semester one then she looked at my face and said, you have a very beautiful eyes, May. I was shocked to hear this word as no one complained me with my eyes. I smile with shy and look down at my feet with whispered to her that “thanks”. 
Shen smiled and tried to look at me with whispered that “it’s true!”. 
The sound of lecturer woke me up from my conscious. 
Everyone attention, please! The class ended but the rain is not yet stopped, so if you want to stay in class or go home or stay at somewhere around the school hall then you can now but for me, I will go to take my child at school, said lecturer. 
Stefan asked me, “Hey! Where do you go?” 
I will stay at the hall at the entrance in front of the school and wait until the rain stopped, I replied him.
Ok let’s go then, he said. 
Ok. I am covering my ears while walking with Stefan and I saw Math is chasing Shen and I knew that Math has a crush on Shen since he told me in the morning class when we were in café during group meeting. 
I smile when I see him and I forgot of raining now. When we arrived the bench near the entrance, we sit and Stefan’s phone is ringing. 
Pick up your phone, why did you ignore? I looked at him at told him.
I don’t want to, he replied me.
Why? I asked.
My mom called, he answered.
It might be something very important, so you must pick up. I ordered him.
Okay. He agreed.
Hello mom! Huh!! Where? Stefan listened and replied to the other side.
When he finished talking his face is getting pale. 
What has happened, Stef? I asked with looking his face.
I have to go home now and don’t worry about me I can ride motor while raining so you have to wait me, I will pick you up when the rain is stopped, okay? Stefan said very fast without breathing and head to the parking place. 
I watched him until he is gone. When I looked at the sky, the rain doesn’t stop easily because I feel like the rain is angry with someone like I am very sad about my one-sided love. Suddenly, I feel someone is sitting next to me and when I turned back, I saw Peter. I stood up and asked him, “why are you still here?”
I see you sitting alone so I think you might be scared then I came to accompany you. Sit sit!!!, he talked while looking at me.
I sit but I didn’t look at his face and replied to him that “it’s okay. I can stay here a lone and when the rain stopped Stefan will come and pick me up.” I talked softly to him.
I see. It’s okay as I also want to wait until the rain stopped, Peter exclaimed. 
I am quiet now and the rain is coming and when I look at the clock on my phone, I see it is 6:05 pm and I think my sister is waiting at home now. I am so worried about her as I know she could not contact me because my phone is on airplane mode but another strange feeling is with me since I see Peter next to me; I am not scared yet I feel safe and warm. I can stay next to my crush almost 2 hours, but the sound of lightning is making me come to my world. I covered my ears and stepped closer to Peter, sooner I am closer to him, he holds my hand and said “It’s okay. It’s just the sound and here is in the city so you are safe” his sound makes me forgot about lightning but makes my heart beating fast and I feel my cheek is heating. 
Would you like to go with me as now it’s almost 7 pm? Peter asked. 
Okay then. I confirmed. 
He holds my hand and we both are heading to parking place, but the parking place has nobody there so Peter left his motor there but he uses his jacket to cover my head and he said, “are you ready to run?”
I said with wondering that “RUN?”
Peter said, YES! Run! Quickly, May!
Every time he called me by my name, I feel like the sound is so sexy. I like him calling my name and today I will never forget about today forever. 
We are holding hand run to the school gate and we decided to wait in front of Brown. We can’t enter the Brown because our clothes are wet and we need to find way to go home. Peter doesn’t stop holding my hand and we laugh at each other because our clothes and hair are way to funny.
